File Mining

You’ve probably heard of Data Mining which usually applies to using computers to go through masses of data to look for information or patterns that can be useful information or news.

It’s likely you have lots of data that you can mine as well in your files that might be information you can use, subjects you’d like to remember or think more about or the names of people you’d like to develop marketing relationships with. For example, if you’re a lawyer you’ve likely dealt with many people on lots of files but haven’t followed up with some who could be good long term contacts and referral sources.

I suggest you take the time to go through your files as part of your marketing efforts. Too often people are searching for something new to try when they already have plenty of diamonds at their feet. One of the best sources is your Rolodex [or equivalent].
